  • DR scenario

Here's our scenario. We have three licensed, dongled machines with three people that need to render and want to set up another (Quad core) for DR. This Quad Core (QC) needs to look at a Vray license in order to work. When we set this QC up to look at one of the dongled machines, the other dongled machines cannot use the QC for DR. Do we need to use BB for this type of situation? Or can we put a dongle on the QC so it doesn't have to connect back to another machine for a license?

Is this machine a render node or a workstation.? If its a node, it does not need a dongle. Just network your vray licensing, put all 3 licenses on one dongle, and put that dongle on the machine running your vray license server.

Ok the scenario as is IS working now. Apparently the QC machine went into sleep mode or something and wasn't working properly. I guess its important to disable sleep mode and any screen savers it has set up. Thanks for your reply.

Is there any benefit to a license server situation over the way we have it set up, with the slaves looking back at one individual dongle for a Vray license?
