  • Particle flow with instanced xref -> vray poops pants -> my computer dies

I have particle flow spawning xrefd bushes onto the soil inside planter boxes. It's told to do density by material, where I have a gradient setup so it only spawns on the tops of the planters and not all over the sides. When I hit render, it says Updating PFlow Event01 or something, and freezes. I've tried leaving it for 10 minutes but no go.

Does it render with the scanline renderer?

    Best regards,

It was me trying to generate too much foliage I think. I tried it again at half the particles and left it and it eventually unscrunched itself. I forgot that I was trying to replicate a half million poly large clump of detailed plant ...around 8000 times.

keep an eye on your memory usage when the pflow is preparing the mesh... I've had my machine grind to a halt as my memory useage headed above and beyond 14gb!

        Low-poly plants are your friends!
