  • Backburner max2009 problem

I am fighting for several days with the network rendering. I work with Max 2009 SP1 64-bit and backburner 2008.1 + Vray sp2.

Distributed Rendering works well but not backburner. Even more strange, backburner works with MentalRay and scanline rendering but not with Vray...

My paths are in UNC, no message error textures missing.
The nodes are active and visible, but it remains idle. The nodes are never asked to render, a single machine calculating the image from beginning to end ... I tried to reassign the servers to the jobs, I paused rendering then resume ... but nothing done.
I replace files vraydummyXX.max and vraydummyXX.xml on each node, I also delete files AutoCamMax.gup AutoCamResENU.dll

I do not see a solution and my deadline approaches, I suppose it comes from backburner since the DR works ... thank you very much for your help because I am a little worn out by this problem.

there is a registry "edit" that you need to do to get backburner 2009 to work nicley with older versions.
I dont have the details of what to do with me now, but do a google search or search on "the area" for it.

      Hi there

Well i did have a lot of trouble with backburner. There was only one solution for my problems. Try to download and install the backburner manager 3.0.2. From the installation date up to now all the trouble went away. I can restart jobs, add and remove slaves. So give it a try.

        thanks for help.
But BB 2008.1 is the lastest version.
I see the post on "the area" but the registry fix is for backburner 2007. Should I instal BB 2007 instead of 2008 version?

          yep.
be warned that what was written on area - if you follow it letter for letter, it won't work, as the paths were written down wrongly (or something, can't quite remember) but all you are doing basically is installing the earlier bb version, and then copying the string values from the 2009 entry into the 2007 registry locations - you'll work it out i'm sure....

hey i wrote the reg edit in the Area. They work fine here and lots of other people said it's working fine for them.

Maybe it's wrong if you didn't install in the default location.
