  • Weird light seepage

    Hi,

    I'm currently doing an interior with a vraysun as the only light-emitting source. My ceiling is an editable poly and my walls are extruded splines. For some reason small lights speckles are showing through some of the places that the ceiling and walls connect (see attached pic.)

    Since I don't need any exterior shots I've been sloppy with modelling it realistically, i.e. while it looks correct from the inside there's a big overlap of the walls and ceiling outside.

    My guess is that there's probably a good reason and easy solution to this thing once you know what's causing it, so I hope one of you guys will point me in the right direction.

    it seem your IR settigns are too low. try using higher settings, and can u post the screens from your settings? also did u try universal settings from Vlado?

      Things to check are if the walls have any actual thickness, and also that the shadow bias for the sun is not too big.

        Thanks for the quick reply. I tried upping the hsph. subdivs and the interpolation samples and it helped a lot, but bumping them to 100 and 400 respectively still didn't eliminate the seepage entirely. I have a feeling these are pretty extreme settings but really I have no idea?

        Edit: I guess the roof lacked actual thickness It seems to be fine now. Thanks guys.

        ps. Where can I find the universal (recommended) settings?
