Since I got no replies in my old thread, I have to open a new one.
So, I'm using vrayfur for grass on my exterior scenes. I have 2 Opterons 275 (4 cores) and 4 GB of RAM.
1) what's the best memory setting for me? It's on auto setting, but should I change it from 400MB?
2) Maybe it's better to use two vrayfurs on the same emitter object, so that the emitter doesn't have to have so many subdivisions? If yes, I think vrayfur should have seed option, because this way, two emitters will generate grass leaves on the same spot - no effect.
3) Can the engine be adjusted so that it doesn't matter how many faces the emitter has? Only per face works for large areas, per area is unusably slow. So I make a plane with a lot of subdivisions and then boolean out the road and other stuff. It would be much easier to make a spline and extrude that shape, but then I don't have equal pattern of faces, so per face makes uneven grass generation. If I could use per area, this would be great.
Hope everything makes sense.
Please help, and advise
thx
