  • SP3 Crashes too many times.

I have been using it since it was announced and I have had too many crashes.

With SP2 VRay hardly ever crashed on mr.

I don't know what the reason might be as it is not something that I changed that caused it.

The crashes happen when rendering final renders with a bit higther resolutions (ever at 1000 pixels it may crash)

I rendered very big images prior to SP3 and it always did well. (4000-6000 pixels)

Maybe ur using new max, where bitmap pager always on, so it might lead you to a problem
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

MAX installation is very old and works laike a charm

but I will check the bitmpa issue.
although the scene is NOT bitmap oriented as I have scenes with many big bitmaps

Can you send me a scene that crashes to vlado@chaosgroup.com so that I can take a look at what may be wrong?

            Best regards,
            Vlado

              I will

Do you need the bitmaps as well ?

If it still crashes without the bitmaps, I don't need them.

                  Vlado

I sent you the files but as I am in a hurry - I re-installed SP2 and the scene does not crash.

                      Hi

Can you tell me good news ?

I am still waiting for a solution to my SP3 crashes (I am using SP2 in the meanwhile)

So actually I found the reason for this. The problem has been there also in all previous versions of V-Ray, but became apparent only in SP3 for some reason. There will be an update going out next week when we also release V-Ray for 3ds Max 2010.

                            Best regards,
                            Vlado
