keyboard typing delay with sp3a

hi,
when the spawner (sp3a) is running on the renderslaves typing on the keyboard
(of the slaves)
has a delay of some seconds. is that normal? running sp2 everything works fine.

Yes, me too. The fix was add your swaner as a service, but then my textures don't work.

What if you use the "run as" tab and run it as the gui user ? most likely the system user doesnt have access to the network locations.

hm, i'm pretty happy that my former problems with missing textures are solved and DR
with sp3a works fine now. but tomorrow i will give it a try, starting the spawners as service.
is there any other trick to avoid the delay if this won't work with the textures ?

For the textures to work, you just need to set up the service to run under a proper user account (not the system default one), and to use UNC path names.

Everything works for me know,but HDRI. When I remove the HDRI everything works great.

yes the keyboard tapping is still a problem
my wife complains all the time - till I told her (regretfully) how to shut down the dr slave.

can this be fixed. What is the swaner service?

the "swaner service" seems to be the result of the typing issue
i think he means the spawner.

I had the same problem for some time.. this hotfix from Autodesk fixed the problem when running 2009 and sp3
Hotfix – Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 – 2009.03.16

Haven’t upgraded to 2010 yet because I’ve only just got 2009 working well.... don’t need all the hassle again...
