    Hi

I am working on interior scene, but I am getting strange results. I have checked all calculation methods for global illumination, in each case the same effect although the high settings were used. Standard vray materials without glassy. The scene was modelled with Autocad so my first guess was that there is something wrong with geometry but I recreate everything in Max and rendering results are the same. So I reset all values and create quick scene with box, where I removed some faced and added shell modifier. Result are also far from success and this is only very basic setup. I have looked into irridiance map and apparently there is not enough samples although settings are very high. Max units in meters.Walls and ceiling ale separate objects. There are 2 light source, sun and vray light in windows. Color mapping exponential.
    Thank you in advance.

you need to look into image sampling and noise threshold. What's your AA settings like? If you have bad AA values you can push your IR as high as you want and it won't make anything better.

Thanks for reply. I have attached all info. I used those settings in interior scene I had done some time ago and the render was clear and accurate.I rerender the image with max sub set to 50 and you shoud expect crisp image, but we have got noisy and with strange global illumination.

        Vray - light settings

        Hi

What are the settings you are using for your VRay light on the windows.??

It looks like you are getting the noise from the Vray light at the window.

        Try ticking the following parameters

        Store with irradiance map
        Skylight Portal [& simple]

        Hope that helps

Havent You all materials reflective with low refl. glossiness ?? If Yes, You have to use very high subdivs in reflective.

Or noise is from light, as 3DMK said.

            Hi

I made some additional test yesterday and as you said the noise is from the light. I had to switch off the affect specular and reflection options and switch on store with irridiance map other ways it doesn't work and the noise was still there. The material I have use was very simple, only white in diffuse slot, no glossy reflection, bumps etc that is why I didn't realise that those light settings could have any impact on the scene. Anyway there is another problem with global illumination in corners, it is to bright, so I will focus on further investigation or maybe somebody has some idea?
