  • 3 proxy ok 4 is not

I have made Vrayproxymesh out of a bunch of trees. They render just fine but only as long as I have but 3 of them visible. (not instance) Render time 1.5 minutes.

    If I have 4 different trees I get a render time of 1 hour+

But with 3 original trees + one instance they render in 1.5 minutes.

With four different trees the processors work at 27 % and I have 6+ RAM free.

It does not seem to be object specific. They all render fine as long as they are only three visible in the scene.

    LC + Imap

    I7, 12gig ram, Vista, Max 64

    Any ideas?

could be a memory issue, are you on dynamic memory?

sounds like you need to raise your dynamic memory limit.

K I'll look into the memory settings and see if I can get it to work.
        Thanks

Got some other strange issues with my wacom. As I start Max it works fine but after I make a render I loose the mappping on the buttons so that I can't right/middle klick. THis might be memory related so I'll start there and see if that resolves the issue.
        Thanks again.

Yep that was it. So how high can/should I go related to the amount of RAM that I have?

Seeing as how you had 6 GB free for this rendering, you can set it to a fairly high value, e.g. 4 GB.

            Best regards,

i believe its dynamic memory per thread, so 400 default x8 cores 3.2 gb of ram which isnt that much.

Thank you fellas. I don't know what I'd do without you ppl

Is it possible to set that globally on my pc so that it applies to all my rederings when using Vray or do I have to crete a profie to load?

its per scene. Any time you create a new scene the settings are reset to their defaults. If you wish you can create a maxstart.max file and configure your settings the way you want, max will load that file upon start everytime. It has to be places in default 3ds max scenes directory.
