  • Glass renders black

I have a black environment background, and a glass object on a vray plane. After applying an alpha mask, the reflection/refection of the glass is black even though I am using HDRI IBL.

In order to make the glass reflect/refract either white or the HDRI map which settings to do I need to change? As its glass I am not sure if its reflecting or refracting the black or both.

Do I change reflection/refraction environment override and/or refraction environment override to the HDRI map or white.

Or the exit colour in the reflection of the material as this is a default black.

I have tried a white material in both the reflection/refraction environment override and refraction environment override and it still comes out as black

Check in material affec shadows/ channel all and use vray alpha output layer to cut out ur models. That should give opcaity to ur glass...

also u sure u have enough raytrace depth?
