      right......forget my last post

      ran prime95
      got a comp freeze :-//....so its memory related definitelly

      how do i find which memory stick is faulty?? is there a program for it somewhere that you guys use???

        I would suggest using memtest: http://www.memtest.org/#downiso
        Download one of the bootable ISO files.

        Good luck! Hope you find the source of your problems!

          will have to have a look into that
          it might be that the mobo is faulty also...at least i have the same specs just behind me so i will be able to find out if its mems or mobo.

            You're very welcome, Martin.

            And it's great you've got something to compare with. Makes troubleshooting easier for sure!

            If you have several suspect components then another thing you might want to look into is your power supply. That is, if you haven't already of course In the 24 years I have been doing ICT management I have had scores of seemingly random problems caused by a faulty power supply. Nowadays, I usually start my troubleshooting right there, simply by swapping it with another comparable one. Then progress to memory/graphics card/processor/cooling, in that order.

            Anyway, I do hope you get it sorted and that it won't cost you an arm and a leg to replace parts!
