  • BSOD with my Vray dongle in

My computer is crashing (BSOD) all of a sudden, and it is connected to my Vray license dongle. Anyone had any issues with them causing that kind of error?

    Message says:

    wibukey64.sys - address FFFFFA600BCF30D0 base at FFFFFFA600BCE1000, DateStamp 4 5643e0d

Oddly, the dongle is lit up with an internal LED now, and it never did that before. I never realized there was an LED in it!

The only new software that I can think of that I installed was a demo of Thinkbox "Frost" and it modified the license service for that - but it has been running the same license server for ages for Krakatoa and I had no issues then.

Does this seem like a hardware fault in the dongle? If so, how can I get it replaced ASAP as I have work cooking this week and can't lose Vray!

    Thanks /b

It would be fastest to contact your reseller and ask them for a replacement dongle; you can also email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com and we'll figure something out.

      Thanks Vlado -
is there any way to verify that it is the dongle and not software before I do that?

If the dongle lights up, then its definitely the dongle.

        Best regards,
