  • vraynormalmap error

Not sure what the problem is. I can't seem to set the max parameter for the vraynormalsmaps higher than 30 otherwise I get this error.

    Any reason for this ?

What is the geometry (regular mesh or proxy)?

    Best regards,

Would be best if you can get me a scene then; somewhat hard to say what's going on.

        Best regards,

Have a real close look at your normal map......depending how it was produced, you MAY see it is not smooth but looks like it's layered with edges.

Put it back into photoshop & do a slight Blur & see if that helps

I used crazybump to create it... I'll take a look at it in photoshop though to see if there are any "features"

You have set the gamma for the normal map to 2.2 - this is not necessary. Set it to 1.0 and it will be fine.

                      Best regards,

Maybe it already does by now, but it would be cool if the gamma for a VrayNormalMap was automagically set to 1.0 to avoid this sort of thing. It's not like you would *ever* want a 2.2 normal map...
