  • Frame buffer and solid rock problem

Once the render is done the frame buffer runs out of memory.
flicks back and forth, and not responsive .
12gb or ram, and 1.25gb of graphics card should be enough to handel the job.
    So any idea ?

    Thank you hil

yes. I posted this on the SolidRocks forum, but I never followed up. If you click the "restore down" button, in MAX, you bring focus back to MAX's windows.

no answer, but you can get focus back to your VRB, just click the middle button in the upper right of MAX.

It's maddening. Some times I have to wait through 5 minutes of flickering to get control back.

Sounds like slow HDD or lack of ram...

it pointed me to a bad ram settings once...so it can be a ram issue...

i'm making some tests with bitmap pager off, to see if it helps.
Note : bitmap pager is, in max 2012, only accessible via maxscript.

you can have a try if your want, just type in macscript listener : IBitmapPager.enabled = false
                        I'm interested by results

and in solidrocks, when using Vray VFB, i'm actually trying to see if i can check OFF the "Get resolution from max" and keep a very low res in max while rendering at high res in Vray VFB. This will save ram. Please correct me if i'm wrong
It's a bit complex, as SR is right now strongly tied to the max resolution to compute correct Vray parameters. I tell you informed.

                          .
That didn't work for me. This has to be the most annoying bug ever.

I am not to sure it's a SolidRock issue. If you read other threads, on the VFB, there is issue without SolidRocks being used.

Yeah I know, i just tried Subburbs suggestion of the maxscript listener.I don't even have Solidrocks installed on my computer at work and that's where its happening.
