  • Krakatoa Voxel Intergration with Vray

Curious if anyone has had any luck rendering Krakatoa Voxels with Vray. From Thinkbox's site: Krakatoa MX 2.0 introduced a ray-marcher that could render within other renderers that support the native 3ds Max Atmospherics sub-system like VRay. As I understand we should be able to render Krakatoa elements within a Vray environment removing the need for compositing Krakatoa passes on top.

Following the Thinkbox tutorials, I'm bringing in particles created in realflow with the .PRT Loader. Seems no matter what I do they always render black with VRay, but work in Scanline. Scenes lit with Vray Sun/Sky and physical camera, all exposed and rendering correctly.

It could be because of the physical camera exposure; try a standard camera and if that works, turn off the exposure for the physical camera and instead adjust the sun intensity.

    Best regards,

Had similar problems. I think the only thing in Krakatoa that does work WITH V-Ray is the Krakatoa Atmospheric Effect.

Also had problems rendering Frost and connecting Phoenix FD directly.
