Hello,
just ran into a little problem here. When I put a gradient map or any other texture into the texture slot of a vray light, I get a lot of noise in the RawShadow render element. If I disable the texture, everything is fine again. The settings for the light itself are quite high, 56 subdivisions. Everything else in the scene is pretty default. Also tried factor 10 for global subdiv multiplier and min 20 and max 50 for AA, the result is nearly the same... Also, the problem is visible in all of the other vray shadow elements. Would be nice to get it clean, because we often need these to adjust the shadows in post production.
Attached you can find some pictures and the scene files (max2011, Vray 2.30.01) for that specific problem. I hope it is just a scene specific prob...
