  • aliased edges where model meets background

Is there a tick box or way of anti aliasing the edges of objects that render against the environment background? See below a render showing the result I get. This is the first time I have rendered a thin object against the background so I have never come across this issue this bad before.

Your link is borked. But chances are it's an antialiasing issue from super bright to not so super bright. Can't be sure though.

Does the image show up now? Could well be because of super brightness, I have turned on clamp output and sub pixel mapping but to no avail.

this is a pretty common effect. If you have a high float value where there is white, you will get aliased edges, because its difficult to produce smooth edge there. There is two options you can have, one render with color clamping of 1, that will kill your float values and produce smoother edges, or render with the white as a sep render element and lay them over in comp.

Ideally you would have bloom like effects there where the light is very bright in camera so you wouldn't see those edges like that in realworld.

Thanks for the help. I usually have glass there to avoid this from happening but in this particular scene I had no glass in the windows, so in the end I resulted in putting the glass back in.
