I swapped to BF to see if it was a IR issue. So, I guess we ruled it out. I am restarted MAX, so I can't check on the release now, but I will as soon as I can. I do know that it is the latest downloadable version.

Ok, will make some tests here, i hope to be able to reproduce this.
Can you specify the V-Ray build that you are using now?

I am running 3ds max design 2013 and vray 1.30.01 - I restarted my workstation and it didn't fix anything so, it is a slave thing,

and it is my main workstation buckets that are rendering different (thanks to VRayDRBuckets). Rebooting MAX didn't help so, now I am going to reboot the machine.

It seems if I lower the resolution (for speed) and let it complete its render (even if I see the issue), it'll render correctly the second time. So, the restart button might be working, but you have to let it complete the render first (makes sense).

              Hi Bobby,

Do you have this issue only with this scene?
Probably the time between the renders is not enough to reset/clear all data on the slaves.
Do you use BF +LC for the latest renders?

and it is my main workstation buckets that are rendering different
This is very strange, the different buckets should be from the slave machines.

I had this issue too, on a previous project. I ended up doing exactly what you've done and switch to brute force which still didn't solve it, though I've not managed to replicate the problem in any other projects since. I do seem to vaguely recall doing some tests and it transpired that it might have been the HDRI causing it as the issue didn't happen with a VRay Sun - though whether this was the case or not, I can't garuantee. Have you tried that?

                Cache nothing. Brute force everything.

                  Hi Macker,

I tried to reproduce this here but with no success.
If you manage to localize the issue please send us a scene file to test in our environment.

if you search for dark buckets you get a lot of post about the issue. If I can narrow it down, I'll post a follow up.

I had posted but it turned out I had missing plugins on the slaves which was causing geometry not to render. I had at first assumed it was the problem relating to the thread's topic. I'm still having the issue of differing gamma across the slaves, but not in this instance.

I see. Yes. I am still having this issue, but it's not constant. My current project was acting up, but system reboot fixed it.

I am still having this issue. Here is a screen shot, and it's always my main workstation's buckets that are dark.

I've had similar issues. Usually turns out to be a bitmap path problem, but once it was because i unintentionally had 2 daylight systems in the same scene. I've no idea why the slaves rendered different to the workstation, but removing the 2nd daylight system fixed the problem.
