  • Vray Proxy problem with Mat id's?

    I'm using Forest Pack to scatter a crowd, and the crowd is using material ID's and the Vray Multi-Sub Texture in a few places. Most of the people are working fine, but 4 or 5 out of 50 or so are screwing up. See the screen cap:

    Normal instance work fine, but the same geo scattered via Forest pack has mangled reflections and normals, as do the vrayproxy versions. Is there a known problem with material ID's and the proxies? I'm not sure why some would work and others not though - they are all done more or less exactly the same way (as far as I know)

    Have you tried to distribute the crowd with standard Max tools ?
    It could be something related to Forest Pack - so it is a good idea to isolate it in order to find out.

      It's Vray. It is related to the Max normal map which works fine except with instanced proxies. Apparently just turning it off isn't enough though, you have to delete it or replace it with the Vray normal map or this kind of thing happens

          I had the same problem, didn't realized that it was coming form using proxies with normal maps.
