Whenever I convert a model to a vraymesh I can never seem to view the point cloud of the mesh in 3dsmax. Is there a particular setting that I should be checking ? I make sure export point cloud is on...but I only ever see one point representing the mesh if viewed as point cloud.

point cloud is used for rendering. idea is as you get further away from the camera the geometry is simplified until after a certain distance it is a single point. ive never got it to work properly but i didnt try for a while so maybe its more useful now.

Hi Steve,
The existing display settings for proxy objects give us the opportunity to use four different type of view port preview. For low "faces in preview" values the view port speed is very fast and some basic detail of the object surface will be only visible.
However, your suggestion to add additional point cloud option will be forwarded to the developers for consideration.

Hello,
Can someone please explain to me the point of Vray Point cloud? What exactly is it's purpose of it?, is it supposed to make renders go faster or something? ran a few test and other than making stuff look horrible, I can see it useful in any way.
I would appreciate any clarification.

Thank you!
There is a proxy option for "Level multiplier" which controls the distance to switch from regular mesh to point clouds.
