  • vray fur distribution issue

ive got a mesh i wish to apply fur to.. i put a subdivide on it so its all small faces.. im using per-area distribution. however im getting masses of fur on a long triangular part of the mesh and terrible distribution everywhere else. . the mesh isnt the neatest, it had long thin faces before sibdividing, but this is a right pain in the ass to fix, - it doesnt seem to have any double faces.. and id assume that per-area should ignore face density (besides the fact i have a subdivide on there so there are no actual long thin faces left...)

what the heck is going on? Click image for larger version

ok answered my own question.. there are lots of very small faces concetrated along where the long thin faces used to be. since vrayfur puts a minimum of 1 hair per face, and my per area setting was way too low, it was giving me this crap result. increasing the per area setting from 0.1 to 80,000 solved the problem
