  • Nodes Bucket Gamma difference

After my recent track record of having problems that only happen on my system I am quite resistant to post another problem but oh well.
I'm currently having the problem that I get noticeable gamma difference from the render nodes compared to my workstation. But it only happens if the texture is mapped to certain objects.
This problem happens in vray 2.4 and 3.0.
In the screenshot you can see both the podest and box have the same material applied. But only on the podest I get those weird bucket differences which messes with the ground reflection. ( the dark buckets are from my local workstation)

It tried opening a new scene merging the objects and sending the job from a different workstation but the problem persists.

    Cheers,
    Ralph

Update: I didn't think it would matter but as soon as I increased the texture tiling on the upper Box the problem appeared there too.
Tiling u: 1 to 7 v:1 to 7 works fine. It appears after I reach a tiling of 8. Just one of them has to be set to 8 to make the problem appear so u: 1 v: 8 or the other way around triggers the problem too.
Currently the higher tiling the stronger the difference.

Update2: Well it's not really the tiling it's just how small the texture is visible. So a tiling of 1 works in closeup but as soon as I reach a certain distance with my camera the problem starts to appear.

Thank you very much for sharing this information but would it be also possible to send us a few sample scenes according to this issue ?
Thank you very much in advance.

I sent you a stripped version of the scene + 4 example renders where the problem is visible in different stages.
          The ticketnumber is: #206563
          Thx for the help

*bang head against the table* I think I fixed the problem. The help who was here last week installed 3ds max 2014 sp3 on the workstations but not on the render nodes. I just installed p3 on 2 nodes and now I get no more bucket differences.
Sorry I did not know those changes were made while I was not in the office.
            Cheers,
            Oliver
