  • Camera jumping on older Xeon CPU maschines

Vray 3.003 3dsmax 2014 Windows Vista/7/8 mixed. All our older 8 core (2Xeon x 4) 2007/2008 MacPro renders a animated camera constant slightly rotated (1-2 degree around camera-view-center) compared to all newer Workstations/Render nodes.
On all Windows versions (Vista/7/8 all x64)
Rendered frame by frame over Backburner.
    Embree on/off don't change sth.
    On multiple independent scenes.
    Free 3dsmax standard Cam.
MacPros 12 core (2 x 6) and Dells 16 core (2x render consistent right (camera rotated as intended).

Yes it is as strange as it sounds.
Will prepare scene, haven't got spare time till now.

    Testscene is here (attached).

I've took the camera of the original animation (architecture walkthrough) strip it of every rotation except Z (vertical) and surrounded it with test-plane/-boxes.
Video with superimposed green help-lines for vertical-check included. Camera should be absolute horizontal, boxes absolute vertical, but it renders different on different machines.
    I've included 5 slow 8 (2x4) cores 2007 renderslaves and a fast 16 (2x cores 2013 Dell Precision 5600 in the rendertest (slave: Valentin).
The original Scene is a mature, bigger indoor scene. There all 8 cores render with slanted camera, in this tiny test some of them render straight.

We exclude the slow slaves from actual production renderings now, but the camera jumping is a bug and should not happen.
Renders perfect in Vray 2.4 on all machines.

    Keep up the good work

OK, redownloading VRay and reinstalling seams to help.
Reinstalling Vray alone didn't work, but a new download and installing does.
      Crazy but it helps.

        Hi Valentin,

Thank you for updating the thread. Actually I made a test with your file and the final animation looks fine.
I see the camera shaking from the example you have added. It's very strange and if you came across the same issue again, let us know so we could troubleshoot further.
