  • Weird black spots with bump noise map

    Hello,

I am facing a strange problem: the scene is composed of:
    _ a VRaySun + VRaySky
    _ 2 test objects: a sphere and a cube
_ the material applied to the objects is a simple grey diffuse VRayMtl + :
a noise map on the bump slot (amount = 40)
Reflection is set to pure white
Fresnel Reflections is On, IOR set to 1.8
Reflection Glossiness is set to 0.7

When I do a render black spots appear on the objects as if the noise map was on the diffuse slot.
If I set the Reflection amount to 0 (eg pure black) the problem is gone.
I first thought it was caused by the Reflection's Exit Color so I did a test setting it to red. But the spots remain black ...

You fixed my problem !! Thank you so much !!
I never saw this option before ... How does it come it is NOT enbaled by default ?! And the VRay Manual is a bit confusing about it: "enabling this option will fix dark edges that some times appear on objects with glossy materials" ... What must I understand by "some times" ... This is odd ... Maybe Vlado could answer me ?
Btw: you ShowReel really rocks !

Yes it is - but only for the new created materials.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done
