I have an install of Vray 3 for MAX running on my main workstation. (dynamic IP 192.168.1.2)
I have an additional node to run on my 2nd workstation (dynamic IP 192.168.1.10). Install went fine. Update to the dongle went fine.
On both machines, I can access the license server via “getstatus” and all appears well…see attached for both images.
Problem is, when I try to send a network job, the 2nd workstation can’t get the license.
I’ve tried updating the “license server” to the 1st workstation’s IP address using the “Change v-ray client license settings” but it will not allow me to save it, replying: “V-ray error” “could not save settings”
I’ve also tried setting up a distributed render adding my 2nd workstation (using name of the machine and port range 30304), AND successfully “resolving servers”. However, I get the following error upon render:
“warning: could not connect to host 192.168.1.10:30304: connection timeout”
“warning: could not use of the selected (1) hosts for distributed rendering!”
I suspect I’m missing a semi-colon or something somewhere, but I’m not savvy enough to know where.
Any intel/advice you could suggest would be profoundly appreciated.
Thanks!
