Another quirk that I need to investigate further - I'm having strange gamma issues when I render without including the localhost - but once I checked local host the batch rendered fine. The issue only presents itself after the first render - and the culprit node/s name would have changed from their node name to their ip. A bit strange.
I'm going to test this with other scenes and see if it repeats.

you bet, if I can find a way to reproduced it
eventually it started to to tile in gamma with the host as well.
I just upgraded everything to 3.00.05 and that seemed to straighten things out for now.Brendan Coyle | www.brendancoyle.com

The culprit seems to be that I had the VFB & max buffer going at the same time, which I didn't think would be a problem.
Ticking 'color mapping' on within the render to texture roll out was causing the issue. Unticked it seemed to be fine, but then I was dealing with gamma issues. Once I turned off the VFB things seem to be working more smoothly.Brendan Coyle | www.brendancoyle.com

Hi,
Like Svetlozar mentioned above, it will be very helpful if you send us any scene that reproduces this issue.
You could send the file or files directly to our support@chaosgroup.com mail and we will do some tests. Thank you.

test file sent, even a simple scene with a plane and two teapots I got the issue to come up. And only when it reached the third object (the ground plane) did the buckets start to change in gamma. Also might be size thing? Rendering 4k maps..
scene uses simple vray sun / sky, and vray exposure control

working without the vfb has eliminated my DR bucket gamma issues so far. but I'm stumped on this one particular issue which I wonder if anyone else has come across. my output gamma is set to 2.2 - my render looks correct in the 3dsmax frame buffer - but the texture saves in what looks like a gamma 1.0 output.. so unless I choose in vray, mode: color mapping and gamma - which gives me an incorrect image in the buffer, but looks correct when saved.
buffer

either way, if I do a direct save from the buffer window, saving using the system gamma, it looks identical to the buffer image...
