  • Matte Shadow with camera map

Im working with an interior view, the backplate its a panorama photography that i shoot myself and i have to place furniture and accesories, so i place my camera and from there a started to model a lowpoly version of the apparment in order to use camera map to project the photo. So far so good. I cant use the photo projected on the render because it have so many little details that are better handled in photoshop, so i that the material projected and wrap it on a vrayMtlWrapper.

    VrayMtlWrapper parameters

But i can't get the shadows or the reflections from it, also it looks like the matte doesnt react as a shell and gets shadows projected from the outside where it wasnt expected to be a light

How could i address this problem? I have 3 more views where the shadows and reflections are a big deal, im on a deadline by the way.

    Hi,

Actually it will be very difficult to help you with this workflow without seeing the entire scene setup and V-Ray settings.

The RGB and Alpha Matte renders have totally different shadow casting from the first Camera map picture.
Would it be possible to attach the scene file or send to support@chaosgroup.com ?

        Hi,

Thank you for the scene file.
The wrong render of the matte object is caused by the reversed polygon normals. Try to select the entire matte object (the walls), then edit poly > Element > select all > Flip (Edit elements section)

Unfortunately matte surfaces doesn't respect the Double sided property yet.
