  • water in aquarium

    hello,

I have to create a scene in an aquarium, I have a problem with the creation of the water inside. As you can see from the attached images, I can not recreate the magnifying effect of the water when an object passes through it.
I'm looking for a way to do if you have an idea ..
for info my water material has a fresnel reflection linked with a IOR refraction of 1.333.(black diffuse, white reflection and refraction, basic shader...) and my aquarium object also has a basic material(simple glass shader)
I had to separate my water object inside in 2 parts, the bottom and the top and play with the normal to get the transparency effect works, maybe someone has a better idea...

    Thank's

    mienda

ok after many tests in my kitchen with glasses and vases of different sizes, it seems that the magnifying effect on the refraction depends of the shape and size of the container. It seems that what happens in my render is normal. thank you.

Vray is very clever with this so all you need to so is:

Create aquarium - make sure it has thickness
Create water - make sure water mesh intersect in to aquarium mesh.
