  • Rendering as Default Lights

    Hi Guys,

we have a liitle problem here and i will try to explain it.

we have a render setup using default lights, no other light in scene to get a spec pass on an object. when we send it to backburner it renders a different spec pass as local on the workstation
also tried to swtch workstation but always the same, we find out the if there is a light e.g. a simple omni then all is rendering the same. so is network rendering handles default light in a different way? or is there a way to get the default lights that vray uses as lights in the scene? (similar to the add default light option in max itself)

    thanks for tinking about!

    bye,
    jens

    Hi,

    I just did a test using V-Ray 3.00.07 /Max 2014 64x and Backburner 2015.
The specular pass is being rendered the same way locally and via backburner. Moste probably there is something that messes up the rendering at your side. It could be a 3DS max setting, V-Ray setting or even a scene related.

Would it be possible to attach your file, perhaps only the scene with one geo inside should be enough.

I thought we didn't render default lights in DR mode anyways...

      Best regards,

            hi tashko,

thanks for your answer. but we dont meaning the dr rendering, we talked about backburner net rendering. is there also no support for default lights?
and if so is there a script that create the exactly same lights in the scene as vray uses in the default light option?

            many thanks
            bye,

              Hi Jens,

Sorry about this, actually my colleague Tsvetan is working on the case in our ticket system now. He will give you more details about this issue as as he has any information.

Could you try something at your environment? Does it helps if you remove all cameras in the scene end render just from the perspective view ?

                hi together,

so we made several tests and yes if no camera is there and we render out from perspective view it is working...strange or not?

                bye,

                  Hi,

As Vlado mentioned above, default lights are not supported by our DR rendering, which seems to apply for some V-Ray features used in the scene. We have to investigate further about this, but i hope this workaround will work for you in the meantime.
