  • Skipped rednder node - WHY? VRay 2.5

Why would a render node be skipped if the spawner is up and running and waiting for a job?

...and it even says "rednder" node

Then little later it tries again and this time it is "Render" host

Ok I can live with the typo, but why would it be skipped in the 1st place?

AND, while we're on the subject, can we get some consistency please. It sometimes shows node name and other times IP address depending on where it is in the progress. It would be nice to have a setting in DR to display either IP, Node name, or Both at all times

I double checked, in my DR settings max servers is set to 0. Also restared max, still nothing

Also tried the reverse, added a ridiculous high number in there, makes no difference
    Kind Regards,

I've seen this happen before, like you said restarting 3ds Max usually helps. Not quite sure why yet.

        Best regards,
        Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

In my case restarting max DIDNT help. I had to restart the whole pc for it to go away

            Hi Morne,

Something that you may try is to delete the vray_dr.cfg file from the workstation as soon as this issue appears again and refill the DR settings window with all DR nodes. Then run another DR job.

The .cfg file could be found here :
            C:\Users\[User_name]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\[Version_Number] - 64bit\ENU\en-US\plugcfg
