  • Object ID AA

If you are using a Global Override material, the AA for the VRayObjectID render element doesn't work. Also, can someone explain to me why AA isn't on by default for that?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Which build is this? In my tests works fine in 3.00.08.

Also, can someone explain to me why AA isn't on by default for that?
I think because with ObjectID most of the users expect to get exact selection of the scene objects in integer value instead of using it as a mask.

Actually, the problem seems to be related to the toon-shader. See the attached file.IDAAFail.zip

Thanks for attaching the scene file.

It is a problem with the sampler. The V-Ray Toon line color is set to "black" which forces the sampler to use the minimum number of samples in that area. Something that you could do in this case is to:
        > Decrease the Color threshold parameter
        or
        > Increase the AA Min Subdivs

        Hope this helps.
