Only one irradiance map pass ... ?!

I recently face a simple but annoying problem with the last scene I am working on: although I set Irradiance map Min/max rate to -5 / -2, VRay calculates only one prepass ...
I can't figure out why: does anyone have an idea ?

When DR is active IM is calculated in a single pass.

How does it work ? Let's say I set Min Max rate to -5 /-2 for the IM and I turn On DR. IM will be calculated in one pass with a rate of -5 ? -2 ? I am curious to learn more about that.

Yes - each bucket will do its own prepasses.
