    It would be great, thanks.

We've had this in the nightlies for a while now. You can enable it with the environment variable VRAY_USE_THREAD_AFFINITY=1 before running 3ds Max.

If you don't have access to the nightlies, you can send an email to support@chaosgroup.com

        Best regards,

Ok, please let me know how it goes. We don't have such a machine for testing here, so I don't actually know if this works - it's possible that we've done something wrong We will get one box for testing for a few days in a couple of weeks, but it would be good to confirm on your end too.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

                Vlado,
I installed the latest stable build 26254, set the variable - it didn't help.
                Still 50%, see attached screenshot.

Stable won't work... you need the nightly builds. It seems that we had a small bug there though, better try on Monday.

That's why I asked you to email our support guys for access to the nightly builds (the actual nightlies, not the stable ones).

                      Best regards,

I know it's out of topic, but just out of curiosity, what score does that beast do at cinebench r15?

4292 points. At least for the machine we got here for testing (2x Intel Xeon E5-2699 v3 @ 2.30 GHz).

Anyways, we did have a few bugs, of course, but with the latest nightly and VRAY_USE_THREAD_AFFINITY=1 we are able to utilize all the 72 cores.

We still have to time the performance and do a few profiles to see if any unexpected bottlenecks come up. We have to return the machine in two weeks, I hope they will be enough...

                              Best regards,
                              Vlado

                                Nice! Seems promising!
Hope those two weeks will be enough.

It's not common to get as much threads on a single node ATM but I can only guess that it will spread in the coming months/years.
