  • Progressive renderer + Texture Render Mask = strange behaviour

    Hi,

    Situation:
3k image being rendered with the progressive sampler using a texture render mask only black and white which covers approximately 5% of total image pixels.

    Expected behaviour:
Render as usual, only the masked area

    Actual behaviour:
Renders normally until 1 progressive pass is finished, then renders rest until max passes (1000) really fast as in 10 passes per second, nothing changes in image quality anymore. When reached max passes, rendering is considered finished but with the quality of the first pass.
    Software:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    3ds Max 2016 SP4
    V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

    Hardware:
    Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
    64GB RAM

    Hello

I'm trying to reproduce the problem with a simple scene but it works as expected for me. Does this behavior happen on any scene or only on a specific one ? If it is a specific scene - could you share a simplified version ?

    Best regards,

I saw it happen only on one specific scene right now. It's not a critical issue at the moment but if I find the time in the next days I will try to isolate the problem and send you a file.
I just thought maybe this issue happened before and/or is a known issue with some specific constellations.
