  • Problem with Vray Proxies v.3.10.02

We are experiencing severe problems with proxies.
Rendering different buckets even without DR, and the result looks like s#1t3. Could look like it is inverting the normals and warping the uv-mapping. I tried toggling the "force first map channel" to no avail.

    Update:
Hitting the import button in the Proxy interface, and reapplying the material (why is this not done automatically?), the imported mesh is identical to the original. Obviously the .vrmesh file is fine. It must be something with how VRay reads it in this (and other) versions.

I can reproduce this here, thanks for the pointer !
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Any chance we could get a nightly "fix" when you fix it? Seems pretty game breaking....or is it only for the version we are using?

The problem is the NormalMap in the bump slot, replace it with VRayNormalMap and it will be ok. We should fix the issue though

Ah, is that what it was... no, we can't fix that. You have to use the VRayNormalMap.

I have a maxscript for replacing max normal maps with vray normal maps.
If anyone is interested PM me.

Ahhh. In hindsight this makes sense, as some of my other proxies are fine. I was preparing a ton of assets late at night and these types of things are easy to overlook.

It's both nice as I can fix this easily, and at the same time sad since we (users) would be better off if this issue was resolved once and for all.
