  • VRay light behaviour in reflections

We are working on a scene with a bedside lamp on a bedside table. The lampshade is a Vray2Sided material and we have a spherical VRay light as the lightsource inside the lamp shade. There are glass doors that pick up the reflection of the bedside lights.

For some reason, the reflection in these glass doors shows the Vray spherical light dominating the reflection, rather than a reflection of the glowing lampshade as you would expect.

    Any ideas?

Does the two sided material have any transparency? In any case, best to post a part of the scene, it's a bit hard to figure out what happens just from the image.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Waiting for Vlado suggestion... if you turn off the reflect option in the light?

I will get something over to you: we've patched it for the time being, but interested to know why this was happening.

Ive seen this recently as well with lights as skylight portals reflecting as solid white in glass and the only way to combat it is to go around and make sure all the lights have Affect Reflections turned off.
          Cheers,

Reviving an old thread here but I've recently encountered the exact same problem on Vray GPU. Solution for me was that I had to set the lights to invisible. Toggling affect reflections made no difference.
