It's been reported in this thread already:

            http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...487#post683487

Changing the environment variable to get back to the old behavior fixed it for me. But then after updating to 3.40.2 I forgot to set it back and there it's been again.

It happend on GGX to me.

That's a different issue in that scene that we fixed in 3.40; pls do not cross-post threads like that, it just adds more confusion. That environment variable will not affect PIXELBOX_SRO issue at all - it's a problem that's been around way before that.

I can reproduce it just fine; I'm looking at several different solutions, I just need to find out one that's not too computationally expensive.

Some quick random change to see if it works:

You are right. I'm sorry for confusing. Just did a quick test with a scene I had trouble with lateley and it's all nice and smooth.

You really do a great job! Thank you for the great support all the time!

Just wondering if this ever got resolved? I'm having the exact same issue and it's driving me insane - spent all day trying to fix it on one sofa
