  • Render mask alpha problems

    Hi guys,

we ran into an issue with render mask where were trying to render opacity mapped planes in render selected mode.
It renders them without considering the alpha in the opacity channel.
So what we get is planes again.
Is this the way its supposed to be working for some reason?

    Thanks for reply/tips

While it's probably for developers to answer, I think it's by design. AFAIK coverage area for render mask needs to be established before rendering begins, but you can not evaluate shaders (and therefore opacity channel) without starting the rendering first.

This seems to work fine on my side with V-Ray 3.20.03 and 3.30.03. Could you please attach an example scene?
