1: it messes with vrayvolumegrid stuff, namely clouds. (depending on scene order, it either removes them from scene, or doesnt seem to affect them. )
2: it blocks lights, which seems to be a behaviour you would want optional.. (ive got very distant fill lights to illuminate my clouds.. adding v.a.p. kills that illumination. )
3: seems impossible to get a proper alpha/zdepth mask that includes it correctly for post-purposes. ( zdepth cuts off hard at geometry horizon, but aerialperspective continues blending into sky, so any zdepth based corrections give you a hard edge at the horizon)
- this is a particular problem as in scenes where you might use this effect, you are almost always going to want to play with z-depth desaturation/hazing in post..
