Problem: Making an exterior render and I'm standing quite close to my building, actually I'm inside but I don't want it to show. So I use camera clipping. But even when I put my far range at maximum my sky renders pure black. I used to have this problem with 2.4 and completely forgot about it. But it appears it's still this way with the new physical camera and vray 3.3. Am I doing something wrong? My HDRI is in a VrayDome light. When I tick of clipping it works.

Instance the dome's HDRI into the background map slot.V-Ray Evangelist, Trainer and Freelancer

Thank you that works, but then I have to use the horizontal rotation in the map instead of the lock to dome orientation. No problem. But if it's a bug or missing feature, it would be good that it can be solved internally.
Also, do I have to turn off the reflection/specular of the dome light then or does the background map only make the background and it has nothing to do with reflection?

My vote is for unlinking the near/far clipping. I pretty much almost never need far clipping. It's always near clipping that I use.Brendan Coyle | www.brendancoyle.com

Like Brendan, I don't think I've ever used far clipping. I've never encountered a need to separate them though so I guess it depends how much work it is.www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.
