I think I found a bug. This is in 3.30.04 but I don't see it addressed in the change log, so I imagine it's still an issue.
If you set up a MultiMatteElement and turn off Lights in Global Switches, the multimatte will nto be aliased.
However if you turn off "Hidden Lights" and hide your lights then it renders fine (even though there is no lighting).
