  • Strange artifacts when rendering to texture

    Hi community,
I'm getting weird artifacts when rendering to texture.
Can someone take a look and comment if you know how we can fix this problem.
Tried this by rendering to VrayCompleteMap or Vray TotalLighting.
This is from a simple test scene. We have it also with rectangular objects of a simple villa.

    And the simple scene

    And the villa textures

We checked the model and there are no double faces.
The sphere scene is rendered with IR+LC and the villa with brute force.

    Hi,

It looks like those artifacts comes from the ambient occlusion GI effect. I'll try with the latest build now and see if the issue still occurs.

      Thank you Tashko.

I tried also without GI. It is different but some weird results remain.
I'm awaiting for the results of your testing.

      Kind regards

Correction. Switching the Ambient Occlusion off solves the problem but the baked result is flatter.
Any news on the newest build?

I just completed one render test using the latest official 3.30.05 build (it's actually the same for the latest nightly build) and here are the results :

All artifacts remain for Ambient occlusion enabled so this might be a bug. So I'm going to forward your scene to our developers team for a further investigation.

but the baked result is flatter.
Can you show me? I don't see that effect in my screenshot.

          Hi Tashko,

What i meant is that the result is flatter textures because of the lack of ambient occlusion. Not what I intended but not a vray problem by itself.
Is your render without ambient occlusion on?

Anyway if its a bug weird nobody reported on it before. Or people aren't using ambient occlusion for texture baking.
          Kind regards

Yes, the top part is without AO.
We will post here when we have any feedback from our developers. Thank you.
