  • Volumegrid lack of DOF / Zdepth

    I'm trying to have DOF on a volumegrid sim, but neither the camera DOF or Zdepth pass work. Zdepth is white, and there's no defocus on the volumegrid. F3D with gzip compression.

    Apparently in maya there's an option to calculate a volumetric zdepth... How do we do this in max? Or not supported yet?

    Hello,

    In order for this to work you need to set the Render Mode to Volumetric Geometry - the downside is that it will render a bit slower than the pure Volumetric mode, but you'll be able to use Render Elements.
