Our render farm is used to render both stills and animations through Backburner.
The queue is managed so a node is only rendering 1 job at a time.
Lately we are experiencing a new issue with the DR spawner:
Essentially, after a DR render completes, that required approx 28GB ram, the spawner does not reset on nodes with only 24GB ram. It keeps "vray_server_scene.max" open and all of the ram it was using. All other nodes we have (32GB-64GB ram installed) reset back to "vraydummy2014.max" as expected. The problem is that when these nodes then try to render a frame from an animation, it keeps unloading geometry (because there is no ram available) and predicts a 350+ hour render for a 20 minute frame.
Environment:
Windows 7 throughout
Max design 2014
VRay 3.30.04
Dynamic memory limit set to -4000 via maxscript.
Any ideas?
