Will do. Thanks for the help. I remember 'override depth' was the flavor of the month and everyone was saying by putting it to 1-2 their renders sped up exponentially. I don't think that survived the test of time; it kind of faded into non-existence.

Well yeah, but after coming back to my computer, 3 hours later, to finish the project that is due in the morning. I guess I have to make a mental note to turn off the caustics for reflection every time.

make a maxstart.max file in your 3ds max document folder, in it you can set all your favorite settings as default and turn off the reflective caustics. Or use a render preset...

I only change 3 V-Ray setting, so 1 more isn't a deal breaker. I guess I am posting so the Chaos guys know that there is an issue.

It's only a 30 minute render, however, it sat here for 3 hours.

make your bucket size smaller as well.
It will help clear up those stuck areas quicker

That is one of the things I change. I change it from 48 to 24.

Go lower.
You have a lot of buckets to play with so I would drop it to 12

DAGNABIT! Again, a 20 minute render and it sat there all night (9 hours!)

If you think this is an error you could send a complete scene to Chaos Support then they can tell you exactly what is going on.

How can it not be an error? It sat on those last buckets for over 9 hours. I'll wrap up the scene and send it over to support.
