  • Render mask doesnt work in animation

    Hello guys,
i ahev a character animation project and when i want to render selected or include/exclude across the animation timeline it renders it, but it stacks the renders on top of each other as if it was rendergin increments.

I was rendergin the animation in RT GPU where the render mask doesnt work at all so for that i reverted to vray advanced to find out its doing this...

    is this a known bug?

We have a deadline and i cant imagine sitting by the computer and rendereing frame by frame clearing buffer after each render.

    Thanks for the help!

    PS:
I have also noticed that sometimes either max or vray doesnt register render active segment or range, but only renders single frame.

So for the record, i dont know whether this is a bug or intention but when you render to EXR, the render masks stack up and produce this behaviour.

However if you are rendergin to VRIMG, it works as expected.

in the settings tab there is a "previous" pull down menu - choose clear and the will clear the VFB between renders

ok great thanks for the pointer!
its just strange it seems to do this automatically in VRIMG and in EXR this has to be set

The intended behavior of the render mask is to draw only where it rendered - so if you render animation you would need to set the option to clear the VFB.

ok thanks Yavor, i am only pointing to the fact that when i render to VRIMG, it is working automatically without me having to set something, but when saving to EXR its not and i have to set it to clear the VFB.
