  • Weird pixels in raw light, not appearing in raw versions of light selects!

    Heya Folks!

I'm doing a show with some trees in it at the moment and in my standard passes I noticed a few differences in passes. In my raw light, I'm getting a load of purple edge pixels on things (it's the same in the lighting divided by diffusefilter pass) and so I set up two raw light selects to identify which light was doing it. I've only two lights in the scene - a vray sun and a vray dome light with the sky map loaded into it (use mis is on in case that makes a difference) so the raw passes of both of those lights would in theory combine to give the same result as the raw lighting pass. I don't get the purple pixels in either raw light select though nor when I combine them - any idea what might be causing the difference between the two? Here's a contact sheet from nuke of the passes with a few of them combined too:

All linear rendered, no colour mapping or anything weird!

    Cheers,

This may be due to the usage of non-V-Ray materials. Do you get the same result if you execute V-Ray scene converter? If the issue still persist please send it over to support at chaosgroup.com so we could investigate further.

They're definitely all vray materials - the trees are vizpark growfx models in vray material format plus a cylinder with a vraymtl, I'll see if I still have the prepped scene.

Here ya go - only vray materials and 2 sided material. The difference in light values between the raw light pass and the two separate light selects in raw mode is very odd too!

It turns out this is a known issue which is in our "to do" list. The VRayRawLightning will come out correct if you delete the DiffuseFilter or Lightning render element.
As soon as we fix this we will let you know.

It is more likely that the light selects need to be aligned with the raw lighting element. I think the raw lighting element is the correct one.

              Best regards,

What would cause those purple pixels along the object silhouettes do you think? In terms of a comper the other ones would be more useful!
