  • GGX and white speckles

    So what's up with GGX? Had a recent asphalt road. Rendered with defaults BF+LC and white speckles deluxe. If I change to blinn, the issue goes away.
    The speckles have a float of about 0.6, so not really bright. But in context of the road, they're very obvious.
    ON the left is GGX, on the right Blinn

    It's hard to say what is going on, do you think you can post that part of the scene? GGX has a really broad tail and it may reflect light from unexpected angles, but it's difficult to say without looking at the actual scene. I'm hoping that the glossy Fresnel stuff in the next SP will help for these situations.

      Are you using vray sun/sky system ? You may want to hide the sun in the vraysun light dialogue.

        I'm using a VraySun, but a VRayHDRi in the max environment slot, if that helps at all
