  • Render element "ObjID" using Shademaps in VRayStereoscopic

I´m not certain if my line of action is faulty, or this is an issue.

    Setting:
Using the Stereocopic helper an a shademap for rendering. Using a ObjID.

    Problem:
The final ObjID is corrupt and not usable.

    Procedure:
    1. Rendering a Scene with "render Shademap". ObjID looks fine (test-objID-stereo.VRayObjectID.0000.png (right))
    2. Render the stereoscopic Image (side-by-side) with "use Shademap". (test-objID-stereo2.VRayObjectID.0000.png (left))

    Any ideas on this?

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for the instructions. It looks like a bug to me and I logged it in our system.
According to my tests the Object ID pass is wrong with Bucket image sampler and Stereoscopic shade maps. With progressive everything looks fine.

      Hey Tashko,

thank´s for your reply. I can confirm that the problem does not occur when using progressive mode. Thank´s for the tip!

For my final renderings I prefer using the bucket mode, but as a fallback I might use "progressive" in my upcoming production (if ObjID are necessary).
But maybe it can easily be fixed and is part of the next update of vray...

      Thank you,

      Michael

          Hi,

This is fixed in the nightly builds. In fact now Object ID is obtained from scene and not from the shade map,
so it will display correctly even if you modify ObjID values and use the old shade map.
