  • 3.5 reflection issue

I've noticed some weird rectangular artifacts in reflections after installing vray 3.5 I tried rolling back to 3.4 and the issue is gone. I've attached both renders here (nothing is changed except for vray version). 3.5 is also a bit brighter and the glass is less transparent, but the main issue is the weird artifacts. I've attached the empty scene saved before rolling back to 3.4 and also the glass material settings.

had a similar problem for my shadows - fix for me was updating to the most recent vray 3.50.04 (3.50.03 seemed to be the problem as far as i could tell)

Yep, this seems to be the problem. I wasn't aware of the new update or I just forgot about it. Thanks!
Also, changing the fog color to white made the glass more transparent like in 3.4.

Sorry, but it's still not good after installing 3.50.04. The artifact is not visible on the glass any more, but now it jumped onto the floor for some reason...
I guess it's back to 3.4 for me...

The attached scene is empty when I open it.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

            Sorry, please try this one.
I've only included a part of the scene, hopefully it's enough?

              Hello dejan,

Not totally sure but just give it a shot: "adaptive lights" in global switches may cause this, try with "full lights evaluation" or "uniform probabilistic". Some of my old files suffer from the same scenario. I can re-render them with double speed but there are always square artefacts.

You may be right there, I did a quick test but I'd need some more time to test it properly. The render slows down significantly since there's a lot of lights in the scene, so I really need the adaptive lights option...

I don't get any artifacts with the attached scene.
